'Democracy: a deviant constitution albeit the best of a bad lot.'

-Aristotle

The mixed media photographs explore Aristotle's political theory for popular rule; a political philosophy that has attracted the attention of modern democratic theorists worldwide. In Politics III Aristotle argues that being under the rule of the multitude may turn out to be better than being under the rule of the virtuous few. Even though the many may be inferior when considered individually. This debate seems to anticipate modern arguments for the "wisdom of the multitude". The constructed photographs explore the recent social and political situation in Greece, as well as critically examine the relationship between the notion of democracy and collective memory.
