Sandy Sigala (she/they) is a research-led artist currently based in Glasgow. Their work explores the theory and practice of bricolage through mythmaking, acts of everyday resistance, and more-than-human futures. Sandy draws inspiration from mundane daily occurrences only to discover that the most poetic, complex, and significant concepts may arise. Their work plays with ideas of land use, food, subcultures, puns, plants, artefacts, the historic avant-garde, playthings, lust, and the occult. These concepts manifest vicariously in humid summer evenings, writing lists, irony, paradox, urban noise, walking, and queer approaches. Sandy works across different mediums, experimenting with materiality, employing humour and wit as tools to both question and reflect on stuff.
