Most woods in the United Kingdom have been shaped by humans therefore, it is rather hard to find and capture the chaotic feel of wilderness.

Roslin Glen Country Park is an ancient wood and nature reserve of a rather chaotic character. The park is located on a notable steep slope and includes a range of dense woodland, uncontrollable vegetation and rocky overhangs.

Research has shown that as the population becomes more urbanised, most people's experience in the woods is increasingly unpleasant. The woods can seem unsettling due to the confinement of dense undergrowth, limited visibility of the horizon and exceptional silence.

Subconsciously the woods are closely linked with powerful negative emotions, mainly fear. The fear of the unpredictable and profound truth brought to light by the chaotic character of a natural landscape.
